The greatness of gratefulness

I sometimes wondered how most people often underestimate the power of “gratefulness.” Truly enough, I am blessed to have this overwhelming wisdom in my soul that reflects through my spirit. Some people used to ask me: How do you manage to be optimistic despite the negativities around you? It’s about my perspective, usually I reply.
As for myself, I think and act differently. I have this diverse perspective. Whenever I am in a place of a challenging situation, I strive to look at the things that would make it look positive – something that would be favorable for everyone. Paradoxical, isn’t it? I always think that somehow, can we turn this situation into a positive event by counting this as a blessing instead? Wait, how?
First things first: start with your mindset.
When you are a positive person, gratefulness always follows within you. Counting even the humble things around you makes an immense impact without realizing it. The power of your mindset will set you among the rest. Let me give you a few examples based on my experience:
- I am grateful for the negative people; they make me more patient and understanding (not to the point that I will tolerate rude behaviors). I understand them deeper, where they are coming from.
- I am grateful that I am not perfect; it makes me value what I have, and this is my inspiration to strive to be the best version of myself.
- I am grateful for the little things – the fact that I have my work, my imperfect life, my family, and everything else in between. Without them, how can I appreciate our perfect God, who made this wonderful gift of life? It’s about how we take it from a different perspective.
As I end this blog, can you come with me as I count my blessing today? I would be happy if you cast up yours, too. Thanks for being here. I am grateful! 😊
With a grateful heart,
Jessy Domingo
